Congratulations to BDO organisers for taking a stand against Beenie Man and removing him from the bill. Thank you for listening and for responding.

As a representative of the GLBT community and as a Kiwi, Beenie Man should not be offered the privilege to partake in our culture and hospitality. Aotearoa is a country that encourages tolerance and respect, for our people have evolved beyond the mindless hatred this so called artist denotes. Allowing him entry in to New Zealand is the same as accepting his hostility. He has nothing to offer us as a nation, yet we are willing to offer him money and a podium to express his disgusting beliefs upon our youth. The disapproval of Beenie Mans appearance at the Big Day Out has brought unity both inside and outside of our community, which I am very proud to see. It proves that our mana whenua and mana tangata is regarded and I hope that the Big Day Out organisers in the end carry our voices and not Beenie Man's.

By allowing him to play it is nothing but stupid. Nobody wants him and as long as he is allowed to play we WILL boycott because we all know tht he will be thinking his stupid lyrics about killing homosexuals and hanging lesbians. just because he does not perform them makes no difference. BDO use your brain and listen to what society is telling u. This is our biggest music festival and you are loosing half your crowd. nobody wants him in the line up so get rid of him... The tribe has definitely spoken

I'm really not liking this "boycott BDO" business. I agree why some people may not want Beenie to be there but that doesn't mean people should not go just because of him. If you don't want to see him, don't. Then you can laugh at the empty crowd at his show. I know I will :P

Disappointing move by BDO. The whole show is usually a love-fest. Who needs hatred? Tell you what, if Beenie isn't cancelled and he comes over, all the guys should greet him at the airport not with a hongi, but with a big slurpy wet New Zealand kiss of welcome.
